Can You Guys Hype Up BAML For Me

Accepted an offer there, but am not feeling as overjoyed as I thought I would after sinking countless hours into recruiting and getting many rejections. Can you guys gas up BAML so I can feel better

They do excellent work and I’m pretty sure they are gaining share quickly or will soon. I see them as the best next thing after the GS’s of the world. I vastly prefer their work over Citi, Barclays etc. Frequently. They might not always win the mandate but they’ll be a very close second. I would recommend and I think we should do more work with them

congrats on the offer

I've met multiple people who went to top 10 schools who worked at BAML IB - any IB job at a well known firm like that is very prestigious and you are instnatly in the top 2% of finance jobs by that alone. Definitely has prestige and deal flow....

You should be very happy with your job a lot of very qualified people don't even get IB jobs at all that should.... It's also notably easier to lateral into a top 5 bank as a senior Analyst I would argue than it is to break into IB initially (because a lot of people leave by that time and you'll have experience). So that's always an option down the line if you want -

Bank of America is the coolest BB to me by far. Love the red, white & blue / America theme. How many people get to work at THE bank of America?

They're also crushing in league tables YTD:

Number 4 behind GS/MS/JPM for M&A YTD but notice they're the only group in the Top 5 who is outstripping their transaction fees from 2021. Pretty damn impressive. They're also #7 in ECM and #2 behind JPM for DCM.

M&A

I'm a current intern at BofA, though not IB/BAML. The culture is fantastic; everyone I've met has been genuine in wanting me to learn and ask questions. Managers are very respectful of time off and mine is actively helping me connect with people in another line of business after I told him I was interested in learning more about that space. BofA has very good employee benefits; there are credit card benefits that interns are eligible for that last a full year after the internship ends.

40 hours a week, with considerable downtime during the day. Lots of people leave early when things are slow; even in busy times, staying past 6 is very unusual. I'm straight 9-5 and in office bc I want to make a good impression as an intern. But most of office is WFH at least 2-3 days a week and manager doesn't care as long as you let him know beforehand. Do know that it's in corporate finance though

Give your MD a call and ask him to hype it up for you. He did it before you signed, he will do it again now that you’ve signed. Seriously, do it.
