Canada to London for SA Advice

I am a student at a Canadian target school interested in pursuing SA positions in London. I have British citizenship, through descent.

I was wondering if anyone could provide me with any advice/insights on how to navigate London SA recruiting? I've heard that networking isn't important, but as somebody from Canada, should I be networking? In addition, how does diversity recruiting work in London?
