Canadian IBs about to go bust - ex BMO?
Curious to hear from some monkeys on bay street what its currently looking like right now and foresee in the next 1-2 years in terms of deal flow?
BMO stepping out of energy seems like its a pretty bad time to be in IB right now but would love any colour.
.
I don’t think this is true. I was interviewing FT there in August. They were like one of two groups for BMO recruiting for Ft, they all said it was a better year for them because natural gas was strong. I think this more of a BMO doesn’t see a big enough long term future in US Energy IB to warrant them having a Houston office. They also made cuts in NY so might be them doing poor all around.
Coolio! What are your thoughts on the general health of the market / deal flow for the next 2-3 years on bay street?
Are new grads tuff sledding to get a spot?
