Career Advice

Hey all,

I am currently a junior in high school and I want to pursue a career in IB. However I have always wanted to go into Comp Sci but the field is more competitive nowadays and so I would like to combine my hobbies and interests together to dual major in CS and Finance. Im still deciding if I should go as a software engineer or go into investment banking. Is there any advice for me, should I do this, what colleges I should be looking at, etc.

Thank you for the advice. I currently take AP Computer Science A, and I have had multiple internships where I help with software or tech related issues. In terms of finance I have been trading and charting for about 4 years now. I also am learning financial modeling and I lead a high school investment club to teach others about the market. So I love both finance and comp sci..

AP CSA is a great first step. Try some personal projects on your own with Java (I did webscraping to get comfortable), or just try to get the basics of another language (maybe python, c++, or a front ended one like swift or JS.React). I'm not the most qualified person to give advice (Currently studying cs at a decent school) but this is just what I've found useful to stay at pace.
