Im curious what you guys think would be the best path for me to go with this background, is it equity research, investment banking or sales and trading? I dont want to stay in Wealth Management even on the super high level private side. Im really interested by investment banking and equity research specifically in energy which in Houston is huge where im at. What would be the best path for me to get to either of those step by step?

Start talking with ND MSF careers office right now about this. They want you to be employed on graduation, so start positioning yourself right now - getting your story and elevator pitch solid, practicing technicals, reading up on energy in newspapers and magazines like WSJ and Economist, learning about energy deals and macro indicators, networking with people who did ND MSF who are working in energy banking whether Houston or NY, LinkedIn connect with them, read energy investment banking recruiting guides and interviews (such as below link), etc. etc. etc.

Also there are a lot of articles about stuff like this here and elsewhere on the web: https://www.mergersandinquisitions.com/energy-investment-banking-housto…
