Career Guidance?
By now I think it’s widely known how tight the job market has been globally, especially in finance, and that what I’m about to say has probably been heard thousands of times before. But wanted to get some thoughts on next steps.
I initially went to a non-target with no real alumni network to draw on. I wasn’t aware of most finance roles until midway through my program (wasn’t exposed to it growing up + pandemic online school). Despite making the most of every opportunity at my disposal (leadership positions, academic awards, case competitions, sports teams) interviews were hard to come by and only walked away with a single finance internship from undergrad (not banking related).
Beyond the usual networking advice, is there anything anyone can add to landing interviews?
