Centerview RX 2027 FT Interview
Have a first round for the above, has anyone been in this process before and can give me advice or can shed a little light on what to expect? This is my first FT process so not quite sure what to expect in terms of how rigorous it will be compared to SA RX interviews
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here’s what you need to know about Centerview and RX interviews:
Centerview's Generalist Program: Centerview operates a generalist program for both summer and full-time analysts. This means you may not be exclusively focused on RX unless you specifically raise your hand and position yourself as the go-to person for RX deals. Their analyst program is described as a mix of banking, consulting, and business school, so expect a broader perspective in your interviews.
Interview Rigor: RX interviews, in general, are known to be highly competitive and rigorous. Compared to SA interviews, FT processes can be even more challenging due to the smaller headcount and limited opportunities. For RX roles, you’ll likely face two rounds of technical and behavioral interviews before reaching the superday. Answering all technical questions correctly is considered table stakes, and strong logic/mental math skills are critical.

FT rounds definitely step up from SA. With CVP specifically, I'd prep for: (1) brainteasers, (2) mental math, (3) generally more complex (M&A/LBO/RX) scenarios - you major in RX minor in M&A so dont just expect RX, (4) deeper industry knowledge, and (5) behavioral questions that dig into your motivations. You might also face a market update or pop quiz on a recent deal. The tone is more formal, and they're evaluating whether you can handle real deal work, not just intern tasks. Spend time on financial statement analysis and be ready to defend any answers since they will ask "are you sure?". You've got this - just take it more seriously than SA prep.
