Saves CVP a public trial which would have looked very bad for them, especially from people outside of finance.

The headlines were already pretty heavily against CVP... having read the judge's opinion denying the dismissal request, I actually think the girl had somewhat of a case, since they gave her accommodations and then fired her within a few weeks without modifying or rejecting them. Had they just denied accommodations in the first place because they weren't feasible long-term, they'd have a stronger case.

The judge was willing to narrow damages to her earnings over the 3-year analyst program, so guessing that is about what they settled for. After 5 years of legal fees pursing this in court, I don't think she walks away with very much.

I would bet future analyst postings will include a bullet point about willing to work long and unpredictable hours to avoid this happening again. "You should have known what the hours were" is obviously true, but doesn't hold up in court.
