Charlotte IB Scene

I know there have been a handful of older forums regarding IB scene in Charlotte/ATL but hoping to get an update with where things are now. Looking to make the switch into IB (MBA - Fuqua/Darden) but would like to avoid NYC at all costs for various reasons. I know some IB/EB have specific groups in Charlotte but trying to get an idea of best firms in the area. Can you request/interview for summer associate positions directly in Charlotte/ATL? Also open to MM as well.
