I was on Citi's website and in the global banking unit of the institutional clients group Citi has both a corporate banking unit and an investment banking unit. What's the difference between these?

Investment banking is M&A, equity & debt offerings, and sometimes restructuring. Corporate banking is primarily lending to F500 corporations and hedging services, though it can cover all of the non-IB financial issues that a large corporation might face.
I am interviewing with Citi's Corporate Bank next week. Still can't find out what it is.
Does lending have any modeling involved with it and by that, I mean modeling similar to what bankers do, such as DCFs and whatnot or is it fairly rudimentary, unstimulating work?
I think the modelling is similar - comps, projecting statements to figure out future cash flows, but I think most of the work is portfolio management and credit analysis
portfolio management? the loan portfolio?
Just had a phone call with friend used to work at Citi corporate banking. He said it's more day to day based cover company's credit and loan facility compared with IBD is transaction based.
Bump. Can anyone comment on compensation and career trajectory at Citi in the global Corporate Bank RM track? Interested at Associate level and above.

in fact, are these 2 groups any different?
also, what are your thoughts on Citi's performance? I think their IBD are doing well, despite that their commercial franchise is still .... work-in-progress
The groups are different but from my summer they both worked the same amount of hours...
Corporate banking is a lifestyle version of investment banking. They are taken as jokes though.
