Citi NYC Capital Market FT 2027

I had a behavioral interview earlier this week. At the end, my interviewer mentioned that I was also supposed to have a technical interview, but I had never received an invitation.

He said the technical would probably happen that week, followed by a possible Superday on Friday, although it sounded like a rough estimate. I followed up afterward but haven’t received a reply or an invitation, and Friday has now passed.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this just be a scheduling delay, or should I assume I’m out?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not uncommon for delays or miscommunications to occur during the interview process, especially when it comes to scheduling technical interviews or Superdays. Here are a few key points to consider:

  1. Scheduling Delays Are Common: Banks often deal with tight schedules, and interview timelines can shift due to internal priorities or logistical issues. This doesn't necessarily mean you're out of the process.

  2. Follow-Up Is Key: Since you've already followed up once without a response, consider sending another polite email early in the week. Reiterate your interest in the role and inquire about the next steps. Keep it professional and concise.

  3. Superday Timing: If the Superday was indeed planned for Friday and you weren't invited, it could mean one of two things:

    • They might have postponed the Superday or are still finalizing the list of candidates.
    • Alternatively, they may have moved forward with other candidates, but this isn't definitive without direct communication.
  4. Stay Proactive: While waiting for a response, continue preparing for potential technical interviews or Superdays. Review key concepts like bond duration, convexity, and market trends, as these are often tested in Citi's interviews.

  5. Don't Assume the Worst: Lack of communication doesn't always mean rejection. Keep your options open and continue applying to other opportunities while waiting for clarity.

If you don't hear back within a reasonable timeframe (e.g., a week), it might be worth reaching out to HR or your recruiter for a final update.
