Citi SA - Should I buy a laptop?

Just wanted to hear everyones thoughts on buying a laptop for my Summer internship this year. I feel like Citi will have us remote in and I have a MacBook making shortcuts pretty much obsolete (as far as I know - unless you learn the MAC equivalents). Do you think buying a laptop that runs windows and is compatible with alt shortcuts is worth it? I don’t think they will be sending us a laptop and told us not to buy anything before they let us know. But with approximately only 2 weeks left before the start-date and huge demand for computers/monitors etc, should I jump the gun and make the purchase? Any thoughts or laptop recommendations would be great too. I was thinking a Dell XPS 13.

If it's not a huge expense for you, yes. Doubt you'll be doing any heavy work but Macs are not usable for finance. You'll also want a laptop for home use as a FT (remoting in to fix small things > going back to office) so it won't just go out the window next year.

I'd recommend an i5 or i7 chip and 12-16gb ram. Those aren't a big deal as an intern but when you're trying to load heavy models later on you'll be happy.
