Citi strengths

Hi All

I am a first year MBA student in a stop 5 school , interviewing for Summer Associate at some bulge brackets next week. I have a technology background so I am aware that JPM, GS, MS, CS are really strong TMT teams. I have an interview with Citi as well, and am unable to come up with a "Why Citi " answer from a professional point of view. I like the people I networked with and all that, but what is Citi really good at? Also, Any thoughts on how I can pull up specific league tables fir an industry? thanks WG

Yes, I worked for Citi before and Citi is in more countries than the other BBs, so global reach is definitely a strong point.

Also Citi just started to turn a profit so you can say it is a good time to join a great institution back on the rise.

You can always say the people that you met were impressive, that always works.

Citi is below GS/MS/ML..probably on par/slightly above Lehman.

They are a disappointment because with Citi's BS, they should dominate.

This year Citi is #2 in the M&A league tables. They were historically mediocre in M&A but have been doing really well, mostly b/c of their ability to get lev fin deals with pe firms like KKR, TPG, etc.
