I sometimes spam a few from different groups, so I am not overdoing it with just one group.
From someone who has made this mistake before, choose the one best contact (common gender, sport, hometown, club, frat, etc).
Do not email more than 2-3 people in a group, preferably ever.
More than this will make you the subject of about 10 seconds of collective bullpen mockery, and then your electronic entreaties will be summarily banished to the wastebin of history along with all the other failed networking attempts.
