Commercial Banking Analyst -> LevFin

Currently in a credit program at a regional bank, been working on several different MM deals that are both leveraged and asset-backed. Had an internship in the bank’s financial sponsors group as well. Wondering how difficult it would be to transition from a CB analyst role to a LevFin analyst role, apart from the increased hours. I feel like I understand the leveraged lending market fairly well and I feel my existing skill set is solid to be able to transition to a LevFin role in the future. Keen to hear anyone’s thoughts who might have made this jump in their career, or perhaps insight from those who’ve worked in LevFin for a bit.

thanks.

Know all of the levfin guys at my bank. The only guys with CB experience are the ones that came out of school in a rotational program and networked their way in. It will depend on who you know, imo
