Commercial Banking Financial Sponsors / LevFin Group?
Hey everyone,
Just trying to get a grasp of different career paths going forward if I get a job in mid-market Canadian commercial banking.
I noticed that one of the Big 5 (TD/CIBC/RBC) banks has a mid-market leveraged finance / financial sponsors group within the commercial bank (rather than the investment banking division) and I was wondering how comparable this is to traditional financial sponsors coverage groups and leveraged finance groups at other investment banks?
Does anyone know how similar the work would be and if exit opportunities are similar? Would this type of work translate well in terms of building up to a role in corporate banking/M&A/debt capital markets/real LevFin/Sponsors groups?
Thanks,
think you are confused with something else
Surely only playing the role of the so called ‘stuffies’ which effectively are just here to commit balance sheet for the RCF/TLB.
