Comp at EB vs PE

Can someone clarify if comp at EB is higher than comp at PE?

I hear of stories about 3rd year analysts pulling in 250k which is on par with UMM PE associates?

At most BB analyst roles you can expect up to 200k which makes UMM+ PE attractive?

I am assuming that PE comp pulls away only at MF?

Another question - Do EB offer associate positions after 2 years or is a 3rd year required?

You should compare IB associate comp to PE associate comp. Even at a BB, total comp would be around 300k, which is comparable to MF PE comp. Staying in IB would likely give you better comp at the junior levels, exceptions for the few that make it to the Apollos of the world. Associate comp at a EB will be higher than most UMM PE firms. PE comp only truly pulls away at the Senior Associate/VP level imo, and that's assuming you're at a large fund.
