Comparing offers: BAML IBD - Coverage Group (one of the better ones) vs JP Morgan IBD - Mid Cap Group
FT: BAML group-specific offer to Industrials vs Rothschild M&A? Thinking BAML I'll see bigger deals but Rothschild I'll spend more time honing my technical skills
Def BAML coverage. No question if your intent is to exit to PE.
If BAML industrials I'd take that but if it's another group like fig then I'd take Jp. Just my 2 cents
Hands down JPM.
It's M&A so you'll do more modeling and get the same technical skill set that you would in any other M&A group. Also JPM is a stronger name and has a great mobility program— I imagine you could move over to the "normal" M&A group after a year if you do well and find that you're having issues with getting PE interviews.
BAML coverage.
Definitely BAML coverage. The difference in brand name between JPM/BAML is minimal especially relative to the difference between a middle market / true bulge bracket experience.
