Compliance/Accounting transfer to IBD?

Hi. So I graduated last year from top3 undergrad Finance programs in the US. Due to health issues during COVID-19, I did not look for a job too hard at school. So I worked at an irrelevant small company as a trainee for a year after graduation. And now I'm fully recovered and I got two offers.

One is at a huge financial service institute's second-largest agency as a compliance officer (sponsor series 7,24,66). Another one is at a mid-sized international corporate bank as an accountant. My plan is to transfer to the mid/back/irrelevant office of large banks in 1-2 years, then start working towards networking to IBD over the years/attending business school.

I asked bankers they said both have no difference since they are both irrelevant to IBD. However, I searched online and found people tend to say compliance is impossible for getting into IBD while accountants have some kind of transferable skills. Compliance job sponsor series 7 which an old banker told me would be needed in IBD tho. I plan to leave to join larger banks' finance department/compliance department based on which offer I will take. So I need some advice here. Thanks in advance!
