Consequences of possible recession for incoming college student?

Hi all,

I am a high school senior that has recently been accepted to a prestigious semi target in the US. I hopefully want to work in investment banking after college, and as of now I think that the timeline begins start of sophomore year with summer internship networking to end of junior year for the full time offer from that internship. I was just wondering how you all think an incoming downturn would change intern/analyst hiring in the coming 2-4 years? I think it’s especially relevant now that the Coronavirus has kinda set off a series of events that may result in a recession.

Thanks!

Pick up a side hustle that you can do while you're in school. Build websites for pay on the side, or bartend or similar. My floormate got a travel agent license and terminal before starting uni way back in the day. He had a captive market of half the kids in the school, all of whom needed to fly back home several times a year. He made great money, even while a student. Always be hustling.
