Construct a portfolio that tracks an index, whilst keeping in mind the specific needs of your client.

Hi there,

I was asked to construct a sector portfolio for my virtual internship and I have no clue where to start :/ I was also provided  an excel spreadsheet with the current portfolio weightings across sectors and single stock holdings. Here's the assignment:

Your task is to advise the client on how they should be positioned in order to track the performance of the ASX200 into year-end. You must invest the total YourSuper Fund AUM (AUD$1 billion)

The format in which this 1.5-page word document is to be delivered to client must include the below:

1. Your rating of each of the following sectors (overweight, underweight or neutral);

a. Financials

b. Materials

c. Healthcare

d. Real Estate

e.Consumer Discretionary

f. Energy

g. Consumer Staples

h. Information Technology

i. Telecommunication Services

j. Utilities

2. Your rationale for that rating, which may include, but not limited to, any:

a. Macroeconomic trends or factors you consider relevant

b. Microeconomic trends or factors you consider relevant

3. Your rationale for investing or not investing in bonds, currencies and commodities.

Any form of guidance or steps to take would be very much helpful.

Many thanks
