Consulting to IB
I am curious about the path from consulting to IB. For background I am in my first year as a consultant, I currently work for a boutique firm that does a lot of implantation work in the financial services and media space. It may be a factor of the projects I have been staffed on but, at times the projects feel like staff aug and are sometimes mind-numbing. Out of school, I always found IB intellectually intriguing and challenging (which I like). I am curious about a path into low/middle market IB or if it is even possible. I am not completely unaware of the space- I interned at a strategy/ competitive intelligence consulting firm where I worked on two PE commercial due diligence's along with a project in the M&A space. Just curious about others who may have been in a similar spot or taken a similar route.
