Thanks for the link.I was just wondering on if others had done so and if my experience would be helpful in trying to get a role in FIG.
Degree doesn't matter in IB. Your school matters.
Regarding your insurance background, not really sure what you mean by that. Unless you're a mature student, not really sure any experience you have counts as a "background". In terms of getting into FIG, there are only a couple of banks that take FIG-specific interns. It might help a little I guess but I wouldn't be banking your chances on some extra favour from a 2-3 banks. You should be making XX applications.
Cheers for that.
I should have clarified but I am not a mature Student however haven't gotten any offers this year for IB but will be able to get a return offer for Insurance.I just wanted to know whether it would be easier trying to apply after a few years into FIG or whether that experience wouldn't matter and so for me to study for a masters etc.
The insurance work is Broking in a large broking firm.
Broking idk. Maybe if you were an actuary? But I've not seen any brokers ngl. I can't positively say that it *isn't* a route but I've never heard of it. I've really only met ex-actuaries doing insurance ER or IB.
