Corporate banking VS Investment banking

I am a freshman at a California CC and will be transferring to a CSU- Fullerton and was wondering if I should get into investment banking or corporate banking and seeing if I could have a chance getting into either field as a transfer student from mid tier college. is there any business fraternities I should try to be apart of and how can I stand out as an applicant

I was thinking more of the Corporate banking side as I've heard that the work/life balance is a lot better than IB but the pay is lower.

and in the LA area how competitive is it to get into corporate banking or IB

EDIT: I am majoring in Finance and accounting with a minor in economics with a 3.3 GPA
