Corporate Finance... Part of IBD?
Not sure if JPM or other bank programs' corporate finance is within IBD. I know a friend of mine is recommending me for a job and he is listed as JP Morgan - Investment Banking Division - corporate finance.
Does this sound right to you guys? I thought the two were separate groups and divisions. Perhaps this is their version of DCM or some kind of capital markets?
I've never heard of that before.
Generally Corporate Finance / Finance / Corporate Development / Executive Office / CFO all relate to the corp fin function that any major corporation would have.
Where did you get: "JP Morgan - Investment Banking Division - Corporate Finance" from? You're obviously not employed so you didn't see it in a company directory, is this from a job board or something?
At a lot of banks, corp fin is the group that works on non-M&a related financings. In some cases its a combination corp banking/capital markets, in other cases, its basically what they call the cap mkts group.
Corp Fin is just the advisory business .... all the banks have it. - it includes all the industry coverage groups
