What is the Corporate Finance Solutions Group within an Investment Bank? Is it less desirable than other groups? I've seen a few banks now post positions within this group, and they state that they are under their investment banking arm. However, they state they primarily "optimize capital structures".

I've seen such groups. Most I have seen have been at upper tier MM (except I've seen Goldman have this group as well). I am interested in what they do/if they are respected as well.
It seems to be rare. I would not be surprised if they did very similar functions to what the Big4 accounting firms do, however, I wonder what they potential exit opps are and the market view of such group.
