Credit Exit Ops from IB

Hey all,

Starting FT in a satellite office of a BB coverage group that does M&A / LevFin deals in-house. I'm very interested in moving towards a credit-focused HF (l/s, distressed) after my stint in IB. Is this possible? Should I be networking with funds while I work in IBD

Any help would be appreciated.

Im in FIG and while its too early for me to jump, figuring out how to get to credit does not look like it will be easy. Everyone I talked to has come from a LevFin group with no exceptions except at some of the Tech-specific places where they also came from Tech. I havent been told "no" and at least have some earlier loans experience in the BO so I can speak to why I want to go, but the networking is definitely stalling a lot
