Spoke to an MBA student, summer associate at my bschool... depends on what 'letter' of TMT you work with. Technology is pretty busy, still have the leftover talent and dealflow from the Quattrone days. Media & Telecom does not have as much work. Don't know about exit opps, but I'd imagine they are good.
Anyone know if CS IBD NY offers are out yet? Did superday friday... haven;t heard back. Bad?
Why do you want to do TMT in NYC? At least in the Tech side, aside from GS perhaps, it's just not fun doing tech in NYC - all the major tech dealflow is in the bay area.
