Are you at an MBA program? Or is this for next year? If the former, it's too late to be asking this question. If the latter, don't worry about it because they recruit the same way as everyone else and it's pointless to think about this far ahead since it's still statistically unlikely you'll wind up there.
Their recruiting process is the same as every other bank for MBA recruiting. If you aren't at a school they come to (AFAIK it's basically the ones you mentioned + H/S maybe), you have a very very small chance of landing a role. Even at one of those schools it's tough. I'm at Columbia and I think they only take like 2 people out of the 100 or so recruiting for IB.
CVP has already narrowed their list within the people recruiting for IB at my school. Recruiting started like 2 months ago.
Important to note that they recruit so few people because they have a high A2A retention rate, as well as a lot of laterals from other banks, and their class size is already small regardlesss
A2A retention at CVP has gotten significantly worse over the past couple years (thus the 200k signing bonus was made) so there is an effort to build out an MBA Ass program. There were 5 total last summer across SF + NY, likely going to be more moving forwards unless retention is fixed.
At Booth it was all application based (0 networking or coffee chats) about all 100 of us going for IB applied then they picked 12 of us to interview. Gave out 1 offer that was ultimately accepted by that person

Got it. I'm not positive, have just heard through friends who are recruiting IB since I'm not recruiting for it.

Something like 4-5 summer associates total I think
