Deals Closed
For those that have broke into the buyside, how many deals did you close at time of recruiting? Does everyone have multiple deals closed or do most people not have any deals closed and use other analysts / associates' deals on their resume?

Doesn't matter - stop comparing yourself to others. Some have closed a few deals, some haven't closed any. Really depends on when you recruit and the bank you're at.
If you have deals closed, great - showcase those and be able to speak through the various aspects of them (process, relationship w/ management, thesis for buyer, major DD areas, any big legal issues, etc.).
If not, talk up all those things any way. The act of a deal closing has nothing to do with you as an analyst and most sane people will understand that. You can't control everything so do the best you can with what you have and see what happens.
