People outside of MBB love to glamorize MBB a ton, but the short answer is  it’s all the same shit

Objectively if you care a ton about money and status types of things, banking is the move, even “mid BBs”. What you don’t realize is a lot of the MBB exits are far sexier on paper than they are in reality, MBB is massively up and out, and the prognosis on the industry is kind of bleak (it’s been a rough couple of years for consulting, just look on fishbowl jf you’re curious )

Though yes kind of depends on what you’re interested in , IMO corp dev / cfo type of shit is better than some wishy washy chief of staff role or “customer strategy” which is really customer success

Then you eventually get kind of old and realize none of this matters that much and there’s more to life than careers and to not overintellecuralize it too much— get the best job you can and make as much money as you can for as long as you can, while also partying and drinking as much as you can

This guy knows what’s up

There are tons of non-bullshit, very tangible jobs in corporations like owning a P&L or running a pricing team that you are excluding here, and have way higher ceilings than CorpDev/CFO, and are much better set up for through consulting
