Not only that, there is no way for people to find out you went through diversity recruiting unless you tell them. Also, I'm assuming you're a current freshman? Yeah, you wanna take advantage of all the programs you can. Recruitment is unforgiving.

If this were to actually happen, they're likey not people you want to care about anyway. And to help alleviate more of your worries, no one will find it. Not only that, no one should care. There have been other threads on similar topics, but just recruit, do good work, and people will appreciate that.
Don't recruit as diversity. There's already enough unqualified and incompetent people taking spots through that avenue. Hit me with the MS, but I have seen girls, LGBTQ, and minorities in my school that have gotten spots at top shops despite being completely incompetent. I think there are obviously some diversity that could still get offers as a non-diversity candidate, but a good portion of them wouldn't be able to.

I'm not saying you are specifically. I don't know you, so I can't speak on your behalf. You very well might be qualified. If you're qualified though, you'd be able to place as a non-diversity candidate without needing a diversity crutch. But you should take advantage of all diversity programs because you'd be stupid not to. Sometimes I wish I just made up being gay or transgender to get an easy leg up, but I can't do it.

echoing what others have said, but would like to say, since anyone could identify as lgbt+, it sometimes takes involvement in your school's queer business society or lgbt+ rights activsm/organization for your application to be flagged as a lgbt+ candidate
