There are plenty of athletes who get offers, if you want it bad enough you’ll make time. It’s tough for scholarship guys who need to be on campus throughout the summer and thus can’t intern but as a walk on it is possible and many have done so.
My buddy who’s an athlete and got an offer said he treated recruitment like it was an extra class and integrated it into his schedule that way
