It depends on the bank- searching google, it looks like it's in Citi's IBD group?

Even if it's not in a bank's investment banking division, the job functions a lot like IBD. At Lehman, it was part of Markets (Research and Trading), the origination folks sat in a walled-off area on the trading floor, and the hours were ever so slightly more merciful than IBD groups.

But you will probably be able to get a better answer from someone who works at Citi.

Citi CMO here.

Citi separates CMO and IBD. There are separate recruiting processes. Although of course, they're both part of the investment bank and the people who work in CMO would call themselves bankers, since CMO is filled with your product bankers (ECM, DCM). More markets-focused, better hours, and generally the groups don't do much modeling.
