OP if you're telling your story accurately and somewhat comprehensively (i.e. not leaving out any major details), it appears that you're being thrown under the bus by HR twisting your words and shifting blame entirely. When it was mentioned 3-4 times during the interviewyou might have diplomatically corrected that misconception, but I empathize that it would have been challenging to figure that out on the spot when you're busy focusing on technical / fit questions and what not. If you have a friend in the team it might be worth clarifying, but otherwise I think its a tricky situation. When will you know the results?

This is another instance of HR potentially affecting a candidate's prospects merely to cover their own incompetence - another example of crappy HR... https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/i-have-the-shittiest-time-dealin…

In hindsight I should have corrected it on the spot, but I also didn't want to give the appearance of throwing blame around especially when they were indirect with their comments about it. In the moment I felt it would be better to go through with the interview. it wasn't until after they had made a few comments I realized that HR had thrown me under the bus there

True. I’m still at a top 50 school but we only send ~25 kids to banking per year. Hardly even semi target category. The bank that I’ll be at next summer I got thru networking with non-alumni primarily however. Story, communication skills and passion is much more important than the school you go to in my opinion.
