Departing 2nd Year Analyst Bonus

Currently a 2nd year Analyst at an EB leaving for PE in June. Last year, bonuses were communicated to Analysts during August.

Does anyone have visibility into when bonuses are generally communicated to departing Analysts? Would it be during my final performance review before I leave in June or would I hear from my group again in August (~1.5 - 2 months after leaving) with my number?

Separately, any insight into whether Analysts at (LAZ/ EVR/ PJT) are ever penalized on their bonuses for leaving?

Helpful, thank you. Did you feel like it was on-line with your expectations / performance or did you feel penalized for leaving versus analysts that stayed?

I got the top-bucket bonus and was the top-rated analyst so would say it was in line. I will say this depends on the banks - some banks shaft you on bonus if they know you are leaving. Others won't - specially those that are more focused on sponsors since most of the analysts leave to go join a fund that's a client now or will be in the future.
