"Describe a recent M&A deal" -- how late can this be?

As title says -- if I have an interview next week and I were to talk about a deal that was completed 8 months ago (announced like 16 months ago), would this be appropriate? Or is it too outdated? For reference, it's a tech deal. My rationale is that, given the 20-30% decline in tech valuations this year, we haven't been able to fairly evaluate the outcome of recession acquisitions, allowing me to inject my own analyses/opinions.

Also, would a deal like this still be applicable for interviews in Spring 2023?

Thanks in advance

I think 8 months is very much fair game. Within 1.5 years is a good time to go with. Might help to drop in things you know about current market conditions so that way you illustrate you keep up on the news.
