Deutsche Chicago

Does anyone have any decent insight? Can't seem to find anything on web/wso. I know they're chemicals/paper&packaging/industrial services, but anything on culture, comp, seniors, exits?

Just interesting for a BB to fly so under the radar.

Not in that team but here’s what I know:

Culture: not bad; MDs generally friendly. Lean team. Juniors are nice people; maybe you won’t care but it’s a diverse team of people from different background

Workload: but sweaty, but ok

Deal flow: 1-2 big M&A every year, some smaller ones then financing deals

Sector: like you said

Exit: analyst MM fund mainly and Chicago large fund; not close to associates there…

other thoughts: it’s not a bad starting point of your banking career as we know DB is ramping up. It may be a long term banking career place if you wanna be life banker. But if a good exit is what you want and you are eyeing for mega fund/ hedge fund etc, then a top team in a top bank in NY should be easily your top choice. That team may be LevFin/ RE for DB in NY

DB in Us in general:

top tier teams: LevFin / RE / FSG

Needs rethinking: just check Factset ok deals and try find DB’s presence in the recent M&As so you can have a sense on which teams do great or not. Not gonna name any team specifically with basic respect to the those teams’ members. At the end of the day, we all work hard and get fucked by the bonus so no point shittting on each other ….
