Devastated at work

I’m sure you have met one of those rockstar people. I.e. made partner or MD in 30s. How do you guys get over devastating thought when you realized you are just not as smart or hard work or good as that rockstar colleague? And you will probably never be like them. Or is this just me?

Everyone is good at something else.

If you have "devastating thoughts" because of this, you may want to look into this problem. comparing yourself to others is not healthy.

Happens to me. But I don't look at so much as not being as smart as certain people, but more like the role isn't for me. I may be optimistic but I do believe that everyone can be excellent at least one thing/job/career. Just need to find it.

The other view is, just focus on yourself. Why does it matter if you aren't MD by 30, or a rockstar? The reason they're called rockstars is because there are so few of them. Best to focus on your happiness and bettering yourself. Comparing yourself to others just sets you up for disappointment as you will naturally look towards those that seem most accomplished/happy/successful. Just my 2 cents.
