Did any of you take longer than 4 years to finish UG?
Will you get dinged for taking longer than the standard 4 year route? (This is excluding schools that have co-op and typical take 5 years to finish UG, ie. Northeastern)
I'm behind due to financial reasons and from changing majors a few times (didn't know what I wanted to do career wise) so how would I answer the inevitable question during an interview as to why I took longer to graduate?
btw academic performance had nothing to do with it.
That question should only come up in an interview if you let it - just put grad date and no one will know you are taking five years.
If it does come up, just say it was due to financial reasons, and you had to work to pay your way through college - people will understand.
^Agreed, no one shits on a kid that worked hard to get through school. I did it.
How does financial reasons prolong graduation to 5 years? I don't understand.
Couldn't make rent, tuition payments, family member lost a job, serious illness in the family that made everyone work as a team etc.
