My fault or just busy?

Just checking to see if I'm bugging here. Had a good call with a contact about a month ago, everything went well and they told me to reach out if I didn't get contacted by the hiring team. Fast forward till now, I've sent 2 or 3 follow-ups with no response.

Did I do something wrong?

This has been happening to more than a few people lately.

Fair point. However, having been someone on the other side, there’s a million kids reaching out to the same 8 ppl during a short time span of 2 months. If they don’t straight up tell you you aren’t a good fit/ there’s already candidates they want, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re still in their pipeline.

Just a tough hiring market right now across the board. Hiring priorities are unclear, and everyone is worried about their own jobs. People will usually get back to you if there is something positive or if it is a clear decline, but if internal processes are in a holding pattern, it's hard for them to give an answer.

thanks for the comment, makes sense. Along the lines - when people ask for your resume after a good call, is it just a formality or do they actually pass it on?
