Do fast tracks actually exist?

Title says it all. How do you become a star banker really? Do fast tracks really exist when you are a top analyst? I'm a top analyst in my group, but don't think it's a thing in my bank.

To an extent, fast tracks exist. They could be in the form of FLDP or similar. Other companies in different industries have different names for these.
But they can only help a candidate so much, there is also a lot left to hard work, charisma, skill, timing and also luck.

I have met both very sociable MDs in their early 30s, but also very intelligent employees who got nowhere at 30.

I think the best fast track out there would be family connections, dad/mom/uncle/etc in the business and who would introduce you to the skills and network needed to get ahead. That is typically how it is done in many places and your network also wouldn't object to that either (because they are doing the same).
