Do I have any chance of getting another BB analyst offer in IB or PE?

Long story short I fumbled my BB IB offer by not graduating on time, after spending two summers interning. I’ve applied to one of the other 3 BBs, same industry group, analyst level, and didn’t even get an interview (received email that I was no longer being considered after less than a week). This surprised me, but also makes sense because I’m guessing they would rather hire someone with FT experience at a less prestigious bank vs. someone with only internship experience at a top bank. Do you agree?

Should I just go for an MBA to get back on track?

So assume you are graduating this December or next May/June then? Those will hire in August for any remaining spots, but as you know 95% of the spots go to interns. Do you have anything for this summer?

You probably didn't get a response for lateral analyst roles because you have no work experience and haven't graduated (or for grad roles because your grad date doesn't line up with the requirements on the app). These both auto filter you out, no one even sees your app.

Regardless, have to do the best you can. Figure out an internship for this summer if you don't have one already and haven't already graduated. You should network and recruit for FT 2025, but without an IB/PE internship this is a moonshot (even with past BB IB experience). Beyond that, look for corporate banking or other second-tier jobs that you can lateral to IB from.

Also you cannot just apply to jobs and hope you hear back, you have to network
