Wondered if you get a company laptop when you start working in a IB? As they expect you to work also from home sometimes (at normal times), it makes sense they'll supply a company laptop, no?

Yeh they do. I'm interning this summer and because they're WFH, they're mailing my laptop to me.

Nope. Banks, especially top BBs require interns and analyst to do all work without a laptop for the first year. This means mental math on all your models( dont worry graphing paper is provided), physically glueing logos snipped from old copies of wsj/forbes, and most importantly using carrier pigeons to send messages to your associates. Wish you the best of luck, it's a jungle out there.
I know for a fact that both JPM and GS do not provide laptops to interns. GS doesn’t provide laptops to analysts either.
Goldman's got to find a way to make money somehow....
Many BBs require you to use your personal laptop, so quite inaccurate funny attempt.

When I interned we had laptops hooked up to our desktop, but we also had a software installed that made it impossible for us to use the laptop out of the office because there was a policy of no take home work for the interns. Really just ended with us staying for longer hours at the office.
I'm an analyst at a BB and we are not provided with laptops, have to use our own.
I just assumed that all banks give interns and analysts laptops and pretty surprised to see they don't, as all my previous non-IB internships gave me a laptop. Are you expected to use your own laptop? What if you have a mac? Confused how this will work as an SA (especially with remote internships).
You get a desktop at your desk and you are expected to work there. If you want to work from home deal with it. For remote internships I doubt you’ll have to do more than 2 PowerPoint slides anyways.

Ok with notebooks it's now clear, but how about mobile phone? Do they provide corporate one?
most places now have you use the blackberry work app on your own smartphone. my EB and my friends BB did that for our internships/and our analysts did that as well. the only bank i know of off the top of my head that gives work phones to interns is MS
