Do Investment Banks notify you if you do not get a first round interview?

A lot of my friends were notified about getting an interview opportunity. I still have not heard back anything and my application status still says "submitted". Would the status change to notify me that I am no longer being considered? Or is there a chance the recruitment team is still reviewing my application? Do banks notify you are no longer in the running? Thanks for your help.

Spot on. In my experience it was maybe 20%-30% of the banks that ultimately said sorry it didn't work out and even those that did were months after I accepted my offer
