At a BB in London and virtually impossible for performance reasons, only thing I have seen is extending the program to a third year at which point you will either get the Assoc promotion after all or are "advised to be pursue other opportunities".
However, have seen multiple A&As fired for relatively minor compliance breaches like offensive speech in Skype messages etc.

 

I feel that’s somewhat extreme for an inappropriate Skype message. Was it just using a swear word by accident or something worse like insulting the bank/boss?
