Do people with IB backgrounds break into tech? (Studying accounting/economics in undergrad / non STEM background)

So I keep seeing articles about people leaving IB for tech these days given better work life and pay. I've wondered how someone from a non STEM background who spends a few years in IB could look at tech as an option?? Or does that refer only to the STEM people?I know software coding could be a well paying job in FAANG companies but surely you need to have studied computer science or one of the STEM courses to be considered or am I missing something??
