Do SA ever become "friends" with analysts/associates?

Title says it all, Can summer analysts become friends with their coworker or do they have to / usually stay formal with the other analysts/associates? Any stories of interns absolutely kicking it with the FT?

Depends on how close of friends were talking. Yeah it's pretty easy to be a friend in passing where you may converse a good amount in the hallways but very few interns get buddy buddy with analysts and associates where they're telling jokes. Also the risk reward ratio is pretty high in attempting to do so.

Depends on the jokes.

Be politically correct & dont curse. If they joke around with you, dont be afraid to respond with a joke (if you can pull it off)

I’d say random funny stories are ok. Things that happened at your last work place etc

Idk man social skills are hard to explain. You either have it or you dont.

made new unrelated account - dont reply or message as i never use it.

“Risk reward ratio”

So you’d prefer not saying anything and only doing your job? Well thats boring af.

You fail the airport test because you’re so in your head that you cant relax and be normal - all for the sake of your return offer.

P.S. I’d quit immediately if I worked in a place where people never casually talked to each other and only worked.

From what I’ve heard, it happens. Truthfully, I don’t see why not. Look at the age difference. The interns are 20-21 and the analysts are 23-24. Why not?
