Does Evercore only recruit from target schools?

Hi, I'm a sophomore applying to SA26 internships and literally in the job description it mentions "top schools". I'm aware of how heavily they recruit from Top 20 schools, so is there no hope for someone like me with all the required and preferred qualifications but coming from a state school? I'm also affiliated with a few of their diversity partners, so would that help or is it just hopeless? I'm also not great at networking but trying my best to build it up.

you definitely have a shot as diversity, i’ve heard that some people have seen non-targs at diversity events which tend to be a pipeline to at least an interview. maybe try and cut your losses and aim for a less competitive groupif that helps (like not M&A or RX)
