Does IB fly first class?
Title says it all. Does IB fly analysts first class? SA? Did analysts that went for training fly coach? Curious to hear

Who gives a fuck
No clue about IB but business class/1st class seems to be the norm for most PE employees I know (of course certain firms have their own private planes).
I think MBB gives the same business class/1st class if your flight is a certain length but not under it. I may be wrong but I used to hear almost every flight was guaranteed business class or better back in the day.
My former bank - juniors flew economy unless international or certain number of hours, something like that. I think first class starts at the director level. My PE firm - business class, private jet, or charter (depending on location, etc.)
How big of a pe firm are you at?
Economy but business flyers get preferred seating. Usually sit right behind business class
I work for a MM IB. Juniors (VP and under) can travel first class if the flight is 6+ hours…so basically has to be international travel. Director and above can fly first class on any flight.
I know MM firms that make MDs fly economy unless certain hour length
looking back - hilariously huge red flag
Granted some of them get upgrades but still Terrible
IB flies economy, PE flies first class.
this is my experience.
we only get notification to fly like a week or two before and by the time the tickets are booked, you can only get an economy
yes, even MDs will fly economy as long as the flight times make sense, at least for my bank
A lot of insecurities just got deepened lol.
I’m a VP at a BB and I don’t even get free upgrades to economy plus on United. Gotta sit in the back.
What are ur hours pls??
BB - analysts fly coach to training. Pretty strict rules on flights, it's something like MDs can book first if flight is 3+ hours, analysts can book first if flight is 6+ hours. Forget the exact policy.
Realistically, you won't be flying on the company dime at all as an analyst, except to training. I've never known any analyst who has traveled, although I'm sure some people will have anecdotes about it, it's not common
Something like that at my bank too. Business class for all flights that are transcontinental and up, but only if costs are client billable. MDs can fly international first if traveling with the client and the client agrees upfront.
At my bank (well known boutique) we fly business class if the flight is longer than 3 hours. This applies to analysts and interns as well (yes, we do bring our analysts, and sometimes interns with us to meetings, mgmt presentations, DD sessions etc)
Same experience at my EB.
Sounds about right
I flew 4 times as a 1st year last year. 3 times was literally last row of economy and 1 time in Eco+, but I think that was only bc there was no other seats they booked it the day before
EB. Business class if flight is over 2hrs for any banker in firm, including summer analysts.
You mean over?
Yes, edited
MM: Econ+ and Business class
My old bank the rule was VP and above flew business for domestic flights usually
